Part Two: Whistler

Whistler

Chips & Gravy

Once we had checked into our hotel the first thing we did was grab some chips and gravy. It was so yummy and definitely reminded us of home.

Tandem Bike Riding

We wanted to ride down to Lost Lake so we headed over to the a bike rental shop. Out the front was a tandem bike that Bec decided we NEEDED to hire! It was tricky to ride at first, because the front seat is so high that you can't reach the ground and the person on the back cannot see a single thing in front of them, but by the time we had ridden around Lost Lake and back we were pretty pro. That was, until we had to dismount out the front of the bike shop and Bec fell off the bike. Luckily I was already off. People came over to see if she needed help while we both laughed so hard. She wasn't hurt so it made the whole thing extra funny.

Peak to Peak

The peak to peak is a gondola ride between two mountains. You ride up Whistler Mountain to the top and get onto a different one that takes you to Blackcomb Mountain. The total length of unsupported cable span is 3.024kms. The views from the top of both mountains was simply amazing.

Aussie Pies

There is a high population of Australians living in Whistler. I heard the most Australian accents I've heard since I left Australia! This meant that a lot of our favourite things from home that we miss were available. We found a shop called Peaked Pies that sold Aussie meat pies. They had heaps of varieties of pies, sausage rolls and even laminations!

Zip lining

One of the highlights for me was zip lining! Our guides were amazing and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We zipped 5 lines in total, one line having a 30-storey descent. I loved every minute of it!

Whistler was my favourite location while we were away. Definitely some where I want to return to!
